Once you have received your Yard Mastery Soil Test Kit results and have enabled your Custom Program, you might be wondering just where to start in your program. No worries! Let's open the app and dig in!
The calendar in the Yard Mastery app is going to be exactly where you want to begin. If you tap on your calendar, you will see your entire program laid out right there before your very eyes. It's magical! Like this:
As you view your calendar, you will want to start with any steps that are available now. You can tap each step to see what custom fertilizer is recommended. The Custom Program consists of 8 fertilizer recommendations based on your soil test results spread throughout the growing season. These ferts will work together to help bring your soil to optimal health.
The app will recommend a minimum of 30 days between fertilizer applications. You may also see other general product recommendations on your calendar, such as Prodiamine pre-emergent, Compaction Cure or Spoon Juice bio-stimulants, and Hydretain moisture manager.
If you find this article and completed your soil test later in the year, the app will provide recommendations throughout the rest of your growing season. So, don't be sad if you did a soil test in August and only see a few recommendations for the rest of the year. When you begin the following spring, you will find 8 custom fertilizer recommendations.
In the example above, you will also see the steps that are available in the future. This will allow you to see what's ahead to plan and purchase products accordingly.
A few things to note:
- The Prodiamine, bio-stimulants, and moisture management recommendations are not customized based on your soil test results. They are scheduled based on the general lawn program and application timing.
- The All Liquid and All Granular product plans are not supported by the custom program at this time
- Yard Mastery's Custom Lawn Program's recommendations are based on soil samples tested using the Yard Mastery Soil Testing Kit.
