Here is a map of the United States broken down by grass zones. Locate your state and then read the information below for more details.

If you live in the area marked in blue, you most likely have cool-season turf and will want to purchase the Cool Season Yearly Lawn Plan by clicking here. This lawn plan is for the following grass types:
- Kentucky Bluegrass
- Ryegrass
- Fescue (including Turf Type Tall Fescue)
If you live in the area marked in orange, you most likely have a warm-season turf and will want to purchase the Warm Season Yearly Lawn Plan by clicking here. This lawn plan is for the following grass types:
- St Augustine
- Bermuda
- Zoysia
- Bahia
- Centipede
People that live in the green "Transition Zone" can potentially have either or both types of turf in their yard. In this case, you'll want to identify which type you have and select that guide. Some people may even have a cool-season front yard and warm-season backyard in which case we have both plans available together at a discount. You can purchase both plans together by clicking here.

Another resource is your local county extension service, which is a part of your state university, will have an extension office in your county or municipality and all of them have open hours for homeowners to get free assistance with things like the ID of grasses. The extension office is a great resource for you because the folks there have regional knowledge of what’s going on with other lawns in your area and can steer you quickly to an answer.
