Do you have any tips for unclogging the Ortho Dial N Sprayer?

Nothing is worse than gearing up for some good old spraying and praying and having the ortho clog up. Here are some tips to get back to smooth spraying: 

There are typically two main problems.
1.) The screen at the bottom of the hose needs to be pulled off and thrown away.

2.) The inlet hose is too long and gets bent and which prevents the suction from going up. Let's get that fixed up for you by following these steps: 

1. Take the weight off the end of the hose (that probably already happened when you took the screen off, the weight probably fell right down and off. Keep it you still need the weight.)
2. Now judge how long the hose needs to be to almost touch the bottom but not touch the bottom. (You want the space between the hose and the bottom of the jar to be about 1/4 inch).
3. Cut the hose off (again it can’t touch the bottom when screwed on.)
4. Put the weight back on the tube and get a zip tie and put it around the end of the hose. Don’t zip it too tight that you make the hose crimp close, but tight enough to keep the weight on the bottom of the hose. (A small rubber band can also work on a pinch, just keep wrapping it around the hose to keep the weight on).

This should help your clogging issues. 

Here are a couple of more tips:

• Try diluting the product with water. Just keep tabs on how many oz you need to use.
• The hose has a quick unclog feature. If you pull down on the hose it will pull out just a little and if you let go it goes back up. That is the unclog feature. If you pull down too hard the whole hose will pop off. (It’s okay if it does come out. It’s meant to be cleaned that way. Just push it back in and go from there).
