We have two types of clips that you can use to attach lights to your ridges and hips. The first is the shingle tab clip. This is the primary clip you will see professionals and other DIYers use.

The second clip that you can use is the ridge clip pro. This is the clip that we prefer to use.

Here are the reasons that we prefer the ridge clip pros over the shingle tab clips:
- The shingle tab clips rely on the spacing of your shingles, therefore you may not be able to have the same spacing on your ridgelines that you do along your gutters. The ridge pro clips do not rely on your shingle spacing, therefore you can maintain your uniform spacing
- Depending on your shingles, the shingle tabs can be difficult so slide under your shingles, whereas the ridge clips pop right over the peak of the ridge line and hook into the sides.
- The ridge clip pros are going to hold your light bulb vertically versus the horizontal orientation of the shingle tab clips.
