You absolutely can and should! Prodiamine will not hurt your new grass that germinated last fall. Prodiamine does not kill anything; it is designed to block the germination of new seeds. By applying a pre-emergent in the spring, you are ensuring that your new grass does not need to compete with weeds as it gets strong and thick.
Follow the split application strategy, applying once when your soil temperatures are 50º-55º and again when your soil temperatures are 65º-70º.
