Can I Add a Non Yard Mastery Soil Test to the App?

First off, congratulations! Completing a soil test is one of the smartest moves you can make for a healthier, greener lawn. You’re already ahead of 95% of homeowners just by taking this single step!

Here’s the quick answer:

Only soil tests purchased directly from Yard Mastery can be automatically linked and uploaded to the free Yard Mastery app.

If you used a different soil testing service (MySoil, SoilKit, Lawnbox, county extension, local lab, etc.), unfortunately, we cannot import or manually add those results into the app at this time.

Why the Yard Mastery app only works with Yard Mastery soil test kits

The Yard Mastery app does two powerful things:
1. It builds your personalized lawn fertilizer schedule based on your location and real-time soil temperatures.
2. It reads your exact soil test numbers and recommends the perfect Yard Mastery products and rates to fix any deficiencies.

We maintain our own private database of every Yard Mastery soil test result. When you scan the QR code on your Yard Mastery kit, the app instantly pulls your numbers and creates a truly custom plan.

Other soil testing companies (even excellent products in their own right) use different lab methods, extraction processes, and units of measurement. Because of these differences, the same soil sample can produce slightly (or very) different numbers depending on the lab. The app has no reliable way to “translate” those differences, so we can’t guarantee accurate product recommendations if we allow importing outside tests.

What you can do instead

- Still use your third-party soil test results! They’re 100% valuable — just apply the recommendations manually or match them to similar Yard Mastery products.
- Grab a Yard Mastery Soil Test Kit next time (many customers test with us every 1–2 years, even if they use other labs in between).
